Minor in Digital Health

The minor in digital health prepares students for professional roles in digital health. Digital health professionals assist health care providers in leveraging tools like mobile apps, software, wearable technologies, and others to improve wellness and patient care; the focus is the application of these tools as well as how data and information yielded from them is of high quality, useful, and accessible. Throughout this 19-credit minor, students learn about health data and information management, health information technology, health care delivery and organizational structures, project management, and information security, among others.

The career preparation offered in this minor relates to the occupational classifications of Health Information Technologists and Medical Registrars, and Medical and Health Services Managers, as published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics at the U.S. Department of Labor.
